For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 KJV
Merry Christmas. What is a Gift? As each year passes, time spent with family and friends becomes more precious. 2013 has been a year of loss and a year of gratitude. I believe I saw a post on Pinterest that stated “some years we win, some years we grow” – this has definitely been a year of growth. The beautiful thing about this time of year is the privilege of a fresh start and renewal of our perspective. I know I’m making a list – not for Santa – but a list of renewal. I hope you find peace and gratitude this holiday season.
Beyond my husband Michael, (who is truly a gift from Above), my family and friends, one of my loves are my cows. Anyone who knows me, knows this. Some of my most peaceful times I have had are standing beside these beautiful creatures. My family has spent a lifetime labor of love surrounding these animals. We all have that “something” in our life that breaths life into us – for me it is animals. I’m sure as life progresses, other things will become more a priority; however, these lovely ladies are my heart. I thought I’d share some “behind-the-scenes” pictures of our Christmas card this year. This card is a bittersweet one because we lost the mother of all these babies in April, but what a legacy she left. Enjoy…
On a side note….While writing this, I was listening to my vocal hero Martina McBride while she sings O Holy Night acapella – simply beautiful. The instrumental version is one of my all-time Christmas versions. (My ultimate bucket list would involve Martina and I on a stage together. :-))
Starring L-R: Basia, Blakelyn, Brody, Bikini and Briel
Merry Christmas….from ours to yours….
